JumpDock release notes
What changed in each version, newest first. To upgrade, download the new version and replace the copy in Applications. Settings and your license carry over.
Current version 2.5.1 · Last updated November 2026
Version 2.5.1
October 27, 2026
Fulwave Monitor in the menu bar
- New Monitor tab. Show Fulwave Monitor in the menu bar and its icon mutes Main on a click and moves Main's master on a swipe. Right-click for a slider and mute button for every matrix in the session, and the eight pads from Monitor's Control window.
- The icon is drawn from the Fulwave mark and follows the master: slashed while muted, one wave while dimmed, faint while Monitor is not running. Optionally it changes color too, red when muted and orange when dimmed, or colors of your own.
- Give TalkBack its own icon: a click latches talk on and off, holding talks only while held. Choose its preset and its color.
- Give any matrix its own icon, which mutes on a click, moves its master on a swipe and wears its color from Monitor.
- Needs Fulwave Monitor 1.5 or later.
Sound shortcut
- New option for the Sound shortcut's menu bar icon: Click Mutes, Swipe Sets Volume, from the row's ⋯ menu. A click then mutes the current output, a swipe sets its volume, and a right-click shows its slider and every output to switch to. The icon is crossed out while muted. Off by default, so the icon keeps opening the Sound pane until you choose it.
Settings
- Checking a shortcut or an audio device in Settings shows its check at once. On a Mac with many audio devices it used to take seconds.
Version 2.4.2
October 19, 2026
Updates
- JumpDock now checks fulwave.com for a newer version a few seconds after launch, at most once a day, and offers a download link. Check by hand with Check for Updates… in the menu, or turn the automatic check off in Settings. Only the app name and version number are sent.
Version 2.4.1
October 13, 2026
License
- An activated license now never times out. Before, a Mac that stayed offline for more than two weeks went back to the free version until it reached the internet; now it stays licensed for good, which suits air-gapped studio and lab machines.
- A license is switched off only when Lemon Squeezy explicitly reports the key as disabled or refunded. Being offline, a timeout, or an error never does.
Version 2.4.0
October 8, 2026
Microphones
- New Input tab. Every audio input your Mac can see (built-in microphone, webcams, USB and Bluetooth interfaces) can be checked into the menu under Input Level, with a gain slider, a mute button, and a click to make it the input.
- Each slider acts on its own device, so a microphone you are not recording from can be set without switching to it. Devices that publish no gain say so and still switch the input.
- Inputs get everything outputs have: a menu bar icon of their own, a color, scroll or swipe to set the gain, and keyboard shortcuts for input gain up, down and mute.
- Backups include your input picks.
Menu bar icons, for outputs and inputs
- Choose what the icon looks like: a menu of speakers, headphones, AirPods, microphones, cameras, mixers and more. Automatic still picks from the kind of device.
- Every glyph has a slashed twin that shows while the device is muted, so a muted icon still says which device it is.
- New option: click the icon to mute and unmute instead of opening the slider. Right-click still opens the menu. Set per device from the row's ⋯ menu.
Appearance
- New Appearance setting on the Shortcuts tab: match the system, or always light or always dark.
- The key recorders on the Volume and Input tabs now line up the same way every time the window opens.
Version 2.3.7
October 1, 2026
Scrolling a sound icon
- Scroll or swipe over a sound icon to change that device's level. It follows whichever way you move, up and down or sideways (right is louder), and steps smoothly.
- A level readout appears under the icon while you scroll. You now get one readout per scroll, not two.
- Swiping over an icon whose menu is open now works on older macOS versions too.
- If a menu is open, the readout stays off it and the menu's own slider shows the level. After you touch a menu slider, it keeps following the level when you change it elsewhere (scrolling, the volume keys).
- Clicking an icon no longer flashes the readout just before the menu opens.
- Sound icons no longer show a gesture tooltip, because it drew over the readout.
macOS 27 (GoldenGate)
- Menu icons are back. On macOS 27, shortcut rows, group submenus, color swatches and the Add Shortcut menu had lost their icons.
Version 2.3.2
September 30, 2026
- New folder shortcuts: Audio Plug-Ins (the Audio Unit, VST, VST3 and CLAP folders) and AAX Plug-Ins (Avid), where Pro Tools looks. The AAX one only appears on a Mac that has it.
- 36 built-in destinations.
Version 2.3.1
September 30, 2026
- Scrolling over a sound icon works again on macOS 27, and on Macs with two displays where the first scroll after moving to the menu bar was being missed.
Version 2.3.0
September 30, 2026
- New destinations: Function Keys, which opens the Function Keys sheet itself rather than just the Keyboard pane, and Launch Agents, which opens /Library/LaunchAgents in the Finder.
- Software Update now has an icon on macOS 13 and 14, where it had none.
- Add Shortcut… has a proper "System Settings & Utilities" heading above the catalog.
Version 2.2.3
September 11, 2026
- A fresh install no longer crashes the first time it opens.
- Moving itself to Applications is more reliable: JumpDock reopens from the new location once the old copy has quit.
- The daily license reminder on an unlicensed copy can be switched off, from the reminder itself or from the License box in settings.
Version 2.2.2
September 11, 2026
- A copy opened from outside Applications, usually straight from the disk image, offers to move itself there. The Accessibility permission and Open at Login both belong to where the app lives.
- The first-click introduction now survives quitting and reopening the app, and a new copy gets its first day without the license reminder.
Version 2.2.1
September 10, 2026
- Restoring a backup can now add to a Mac instead of replacing it, so two Macs' shortcut lists can be combined. Add is the default; Replace says what it discards.
Version 2.2.0
September 10, 2026
- Shortcuts to your own apps, documents and folders. Put several behind one icon and it becomes a menu.
- Save your settings to a file and restore them from one, including by double-clicking the file in the Finder. The license is not included, because it is activated per Mac.
Version 2.1.1
September 5, 2026
- An Instruction Manual link at the foot of the settings sidebar.
Version 2.1.0
September 4, 2026
Volume
- Every audio output gets its own volume slider and mute in the menu, acting on that device whether or not it is the one you are listening through. (License.)
- Any output can have a menu bar icon of its own, showing its mute state.
- Scroll over a sound icon to set its level. Option-click or middle-click mutes.
- Volume up, volume down and mute can each have a keyboard shortcut.
- Devices that publish no volume say so, rather than showing a slider that does nothing.
Menu bar
- A menu bar manager such as Bartender holding an icon is no longer reported as a full menu bar, and the warning can be switched off and on.
- The first click after an install opens the settings instead of jumping.
Version 2.0.1
September 3, 2026
- Spelling matches the website: "color" throughout the app.
Version 2.0
September 3, 2026
- A new app, built on the original Gatekeeper shortcut: a catalog of built-in destinations (settings panes, privacy sections, utilities) and a list you arrange yourself.
- Settings for where JumpDock lives (menu bar, Dock or both), icon color, keyboard shortcuts, scrolling to the Gatekeeper controls, and opening at login.
- Licensing through Lemon Squeezy. The free copy keeps the full jump with one shortcut; a license adds the rest.
Version 1.0
August 28, 2026
- A menu bar padlock that opens System Settings at the Gatekeeper controls.
