FulwaveTimer release notes
What changed in each version, newest first. Updates come through the App Store.
Current version 1.6.0 · Last updated November 2026
Version 1.6.0
October 17, 2026
- Make the Player yours. The Player is now a set of widgets you can move, resize, add and remove. Tap the sliders button at the top right to begin, or start from a ready-made layout: Classic, Minimal, Big Clock, Teleprompter or Gym.
- Eight clock styles: Ring, LED, Vacuum Display, Flip Clock, Analog, Pie Timer, Progress Bar and Minimal, in six colors. Add a second clock in another style if you like.
- Three styles of playback controls, including big buttons that are easy to hit mid-workout.
- A refreshed app icon: a brighter Fulwave logo with a progress ring.
Version 1.5.0
October 4, 2026
- Apple Watch: the first session of the day now records its full time in Apple Health. The cause turned out to be on iPhone: starting a session before opening the Player tab didn't start the workout on your watch. If you've been stopping and restarting your first session to get it recorded, you no longer need to.
Version 1.4.9
September 24, 2026
- Apple Watch: the first session of the day now records its full time in Apple Health. Previously it could be saved with no duration unless you stopped and restarted it.
Version 1.4.6
September 7, 2026
- Apple Watch: if the watch doesn't have permission to save workouts to Apple Health, the timer now tells you before the session starts instead of recording nothing. Previously a session could finish with no workout saved and no explanation.
Version 1.4.5
September 3, 2026
- The session complete card now clears itself once you open the app. It still waits on your Lock Screen for as long as you need, so a session that ended in your pocket is still there to see, but tapping it no longer left it sitting behind you.
Version 1.4.4
September 1, 2026
- Stage Change Alerts now stays off when you turn it off. A session started from your Apple Watch or a shortcut could still post the banners, and switching it off left the ones already on your Lock Screen sitting there.
- The "Timer Complete" alert no longer arrives for a session the app already finished for you. It's now only the backstop it was meant to be, for when the app was shut down and couldn't announce the finish itself. It has its own switch, in Settings → Lock Screen.
- The session complete card stays on your Lock Screen until you dismiss it. It used to clear itself after a few seconds, so a session that ended while your phone was in your pocket left nothing to see.
Version 1.4.3
August 27, 2026
- Audio that comes with a locked session now always stays with that session. If your device already had the same file, that audio could end up listed with your own, where it could be renamed or deleted, instead of being kept with the session and protected like the rest of it.
Version 1.4.2
August 25, 2026
- A session someone shares with you is more yours than it used to be. The voice cues, the color tag, the folder you keep it in, and the workout type your Apple Watch records are all yours to set, even when the session is locked.
- A shared session now arrives unfiled, in your library rather than in a folder its author picked for you.
- Your imported sessions are no longer at risk right after reinstalling. Fulwave now waits for your Pro purchase to be confirmed before applying free-tier limits, instead of briefly reading an active subscription as expired while iCloud is still handing your library back.
- A session keeps the copy it can rebuild its audio from. Filing one in a folder or editing it in the Build tab used to be able to clear it, leaving that session silent on a reinstall or a second device.
- Two sessions that share the same audio file no longer confuse each other about who owns it.
- The opening walkthrough now finishes before the app asks permission to send notifications.
Version 1.3.1
August 25, 2026
- Every keyboard now has a visible way out. Naming a playlist, a stage, or a saved phrase, the return key closes the keyboard; where return makes a new line instead, such as a stage's spoken text, there's a Done button just above the keyboard.
Version 1.3
August 22, 2026
- A session you receive can now carry its spoken words as text instead of baking them into the audio, so your iPhone reads them to you in any voice you have installed, including one in another language. Change the voice or the speed, or switch speaking off and just read along on the Player. It stays yours to adjust even when the session is locked.
- Audio that arrives inside a session file no longer lands in your Audio Library. It's kept in its own Session Audio group, so your library stays the audio you chose and added yourself.
- Spoken text no longer piles up on disk. Rendered speech that nothing points at any more is cleared out on its own, and it's kept out of your iCloud backup.
- A session you've imported can put its own audio back. Your playlists sync through iCloud but their audio didn't, so a session could arrive on a second device, or come back after reinstalling, with nothing to play. Sessions now keep a copy of the file they came from and restore themselves. You can also point one at its original session file yourself.
- Your most recent library backup is now kept in iCloud as well as on your device. Backups on the device go when the app does, which is exactly when you'd want one. This one is still there after reinstalling, under In iCloud in Settings → Backups.
Version 1.2.2
August 2026
- The Lock Screen now shows the session's own artwork for the whole session. It used to borrow the album art embedded in whichever track played first, so a session wore a picture that had nothing to do with it.
- A session with no artwork of its own now shows the Fulwave artwork instead of an empty space, so a silent interval timer looks like a session, not a blank card.
- Audio that arrives with a locked session keeps the name its author gave it, and stays until the session itself is deleted. The names in your Audio Library and the names in the session can no longer drift apart.
- Fixed: a stage whose audio carries no artwork no longer keeps showing the previous stage's picture.
Version 1.2.1
August 2026
- Imported sessions now name their audio for the session and stage it came from: "Keynote · Stage 2" instead of another row called "Stage 1". The Audio Library and the stage editor agree on the name.
- Deleting a session now removes the audio it brought in with it. Audio you already had, or that another playlist still uses, is left alone.
- Skip back now restarts the current stage when there's nowhere earlier to go, so a single-stage session can start over without ending it first.
Version 1.2
August 2026
- Fixed: on a repeating session, skip forward and skip back now move between rounds instead of stopping at the edges of the current one. Try it on the Box Breathing sample.
- New Help section in Settings: open the full instruction manual right from the app, plus a direct link to the privacy policy.
Version 1.1
July 2026
- Stage colors: give each stage its own color and see it in the stage list and player queue. Sessions built in Fulwave Designer now show their designed colors too.
- Fixed: imported locked sessions could have their audio and spoken text changed. Locked sessions now stay exactly as their author built them. You can still adjust times, haptics, and alert sounds.
- Sharing a session you received now keeps its locked setting.
Version 1.0
July 2026
- Fulwave Pro: unlimited library and session export, as a monthly subscription (7-day free trial) or a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Quick Start Home Screen widget.
- On-screen teleprompter text for rehearsing speeches.
- Per-stage alert tones and a spoken 3-2-1 countdown.
- Color-tag your playlists; simplified Playback-Only view.
